First and foremost, we are based in Canada, have a Canadian name but we recruit internationally. We have members currently from all over the world including (But not limited to) the United States, UK, Germany and Russia.

Welcome to the Canadian Armed Forces Team! We have some info for you to read below to help get your started. The first request we have, is for you to add all our members to your friends list. This is located on the left hand side of the site via a graphic link titled "Roster". Just click on the link to each person you need to add, then paste them to your friends list. Instruction on how to do this is listed in the next paragraph... Please note: When sending friend requests, please add "CAF" via a message so members know you are a candidate and not a random player.

We have sub roster sections we are working on. For the Battlefield Bad Company 2 participants, click on the leader board on the left hand side of the site. For quick access and to speed up adding people to your friends list, login via your PC to xboxlive.com. Select from the drop down menu, 'view friends'. Near the top left side of the page, you will see a field to 'Add friend'. On our leader board, highlight the name of the person(s) you want to add then hold your control key down and hit 'C' (copy). Go back to xbox live page and click on the field to add friend and again hold control key but this time hit the 'V' (paste) key to paste. Repeat until all friends are added. For other games we play and support, Select the forum of the game you are interested in and look up "roster" or some variation of that. We have added a roster section under each game category.

We have something for everyone on the Canadian Armed Forces Team. We have casual players who we refer to as Regular Forces and players who like to participate more on a competitive level such as Tournaments, Ladder Leagues, Scrims etc. on our Special Forces Squad. We would like to point out, you can participate in either squad; There are no set rules for participation levels. In fact, we have several members that participate in both regular and Special forces. The only qualification of this is you have a good time! For more details, please visit our forums!

We use our own Specializations in game other than what is included with the game. The specializations we are talking about is often referred to by members as "Call Outs". What does this mean? It means members have created maps and labeled them for land mark reference points in game. This greatly improved communications and in game tactics. There is a private section on our site with limited access to CAF members only. Once you become a member, access permission will be changed. We have a world of info in there on tactical team play and how we organize ourselves in game. We place Zero pressure on new members to learn all this over night. We are always here to assist people and each other as we do on a continuous basis. Please don't feel like you are out of place because you don't have all the coms down. Even some of the extreme veterans of CAF are still working on this. The best method of learning here for all is time...

We don't stack our team. We are not about winning or losing, we are about learning teamwork, tactical gaming and most of all having a good time in a family oriented setting. Don't get us wrong, we are not a church group by any means. You may hear the odd person with potty mouth or tell a disgusting joke here and there but we don't go overboard. We have a sense of humor that can be sick and twisted at times but you have to have a good time here which is one of the requirements for joining us. One major characteristic of this clan is that NO ONE in CAF will judge someone or call them down because they're not as high a level, don't have an awesome KDR, or are "just getting the hang of the game". If you're in it for fun, this is the place. :)

We recruit mature players only. To define this further, we will not accept people who are disruptive in game, have a chip or burr on about a previous clan or experience and want to take it out on this team. We are interested in folks who have a positive outlook not only on life, but people as well. We do not allow any kind of discrimination here. Age isn't an issue to join CAF, unless you make it one. We will accept younger players but if we have to mute you because you don't know when to stop talking, we may ask you to move on. We are currently a predominantly “older age” clan with a few young mature lads. In the past, we have maintained a 25+ age group but then found all you youngins were powning us to much so we are now in the process of recruiting you rather than fighting you. :)

We don't have a structured leadership/admin panel or a select group of generals group here at CAF. What we mean by this is all full time CAF team members decide and vote on what we want out of this gaming community. We do have in game elected squad leaders (new process) to keep our scrims organized and to keep tactics and in game strategy organized. Our philosophy is we all invest time and money in the gaming community; we should all have a voice.

Please read our team code of conduct listed below. We are not looking for people who want to show off how many points they can get in a round. Our priority is to work as a team. Don’t get us wrong, we enjoy being competitive with others and each other as it is fun to achieve rank and awards in game. Let’s face it, most of us are men and like to compete but we keep it healthy and fun. Many members shoot for high scores along with team play during pub gaming. During competition play, high score doesn’t mean as much as team play score or contributions as a unified squad.

We have a private section in our forums that will be accessible to new recruits once we are sure the recruit is here to stay. In this section, we have detailed info on how we communicate in game. We have a link on the right side of our site "Map Coms" . These are a series of maps in Battlefield Bad Company 2 we used to mark landmarks in game for quick descriptive communications to inform everyone what is going on with very short phrase or "call-out" as some members refer...

Outlined below are behavior and conduct expectations for CAF members and public:

1.) No discrimination of any kind (Race, Religion, political beliefs etc.)
2.) No in-game disputes. Don't get into in-game disputes. These can get out of hand and are often unproductive.
3.) Use diplomacy at all times when dealing with disputes or difficult situations. Being the "better person" shows maturity and poise; the other party will more often than not leave disgraced.
4.) Keep language to a respectable level. We are not a church group here but we do encourage people not to use extreme language...
5.) Behave in other servers as listed above. When you have a CAF tag, keep in mind you represent the team and not the individual.
6.) Frustration: Gaming can be frustrating at times. Please know your limits and take a break as required.

Please note, we do not allow glitching, hacking or any other form of cheating. We pride ourselves on Honesty, Integrity and Maturity. Anyone caught glitching will be removed from the team.

We do not allow Clan hopping but are flexible under some circumstances.. If you have friends in other clans and play with them, this is excluded & ok by us. If you play a game we don't currently play but a friend on another clan does and you want to wear their clan tags, this is also fine with us. Many members of CAF put many hours in tactical and strategy planning/training. (We just ask that our site/team tactical info remains here and not shared.) We appreciate your understanding and respect re: this matter.

Emotions don't translate well into words leaving interpretations varied, please be mindful of this when posting in the forums.

These are just some of the basic expectations we have of people who join our community. Please follow them and if you have any issues, please feel free to contact one of our senior CAF members.
